Dimensional Strategy

A dimensional engineering plan starts at the beginning of the product design cycle. Our quality engineers work with the product engineers to develop a build strategy for robust designs that are insensitive to variation.

By developing a build strategy early in the product design, assembly variation can be absorbed into the design, and planned for prior to the assembly plant.

Dimensional Analysis

The dimensional analysis is used to predict if build objectives can be met This is done by applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and Variation Simulation Analysis (VSA).

GD&T is the recognized method to describe the dimensional requirements developed during the build strategy. Our engineers have years of experience applying proper GD&T everything from combat vehicles to multi part assemblies.

VSA uses simulation software to digitally validate GD&T before the parts are finalized for production. It is a powerful tool that saves time and money the product development lifecycle. Inspection and Validation

Gathering and analyzing data is a critical part of quality engineering. At Waltonen our engineers work with the dimensional team to establish the best means of collecting data. The measurement plan is customized to the customers needs.
